- compressed files. All options specified are passed directly to _c_m_p or
- _d_i_f_f. If only 1 file is specified, then the files compared are _f_i_l_e_1 and
- an uncompressed _f_i_l_e_1.gz. If two files are specified, then they are
- uncompressed if necessary and fed to _c_m_p or _d_i_f_f. The exit status from
- _c_m_p or _d_i_f_f is preserved.
